At first, it’s the fun stuff. Venue tours, Pinterest boards, choosing your colours, getting excited about the little details and imagining what the day will feel like.
Then the supplier emails start. Then the quotes. Then the timeline. Then someone asks who is setting up the signage. Then you realise you’re somehow responsible for knowing what time the florist is arriving, where the cake is going and whether your MC actually knows what’s happening next.
You’re organised. You’re capable. You could do it all yourself.
Lover of long lunches, good company and full tables.
With a Diploma in Event Management and six years working venue-side, I’ve had the chance to coordinate 250+ weddings, along with more birthdays, hens parties, baby showers, corporate functions and celebrations than I could possibly count.
I’ve worked on events for 10 people and events for 400 people, and there’s something I love about every one of them. I love the big ideas, the beautiful details and the energy of a room coming together, but I’m equally obsessed with the behind-the-scenes stuff that makes it all actually work.
Working venue-side taught me a lot. I’ve seen pretty much every version of “oh… that wasn’t supposed to happen” and learnt how to stay calm, think quickly and, ideally, fix things before anyone else even notices.
These days, I bring all of that experience into House of H Events, helping couples, families and businesses plan, style and coordinate celebrations that feel personal, considered and fun.
